About I80west
 

I80west refers to the transcontinental route across America from NYC to San Francisco, CA through Chicago, Omaha, Cheyenne and Reno. It is the Lincoln Highway, the Oregon Trail, and the Transcontinental Railroad of our history classes. It traverses some of the most beautiful landscapes in the world - across sacred native lands, through forests, fields, mountains and terminating at the threshold of the magnificent Pacific ocean. At its most fundamental, I-80 west (the route) is a starting point for the design and creative inspiration of a collective of artists and designers (I80west the studio) who are moved by the crazy landscapes, extreme weather events, sprawling emptiness, textures, colors and space of the real and the imagined west.
